Oh its been far too long since I have sat here. I get so busy, I tend to neglect some matters that just shouldnt be. So, I promise to, hmmm, I promise to try to be, a more dilegent tender of my web-site and blog. I apologize for any disappointments caused by my failure to maintain these issues effectively. Thank you for your understanding and continued patience.

A Class Act

After a quarter century, I have returned to the hallowed halls of higher education. For sometime I debated whether I possess the required fortitude. Despite praise and prompting from my loving and complimenting other, I continued to procrastinate. This Christmas may prove to be the most significant in my developing career as a photographer. I unwrapped last, the smallest of my gifts. A completed enrollment form for a college course for photography. You had the faith I lacked to leap, Thank you Angela for the push. I love you!
I was so excited, but there was a little anxiety, and it grew marginally as I drove closer to the college. But as I walked from the dark parking lot toward the lighted doors of the school, the nervousness faded. And as it faded a pride grew. I strode through the corridors with zeal and found room 110 easily. I opened the door without apprehension and entered the empty room. The neatly ordered rows of desks, the black boards the lectern. I am very happy. And for the first time in my amazing life, I claimed the front desk without the insistance of the teacher.

All it takes is thirty minutes...

Saturday October 27, 2007

An impromptu shoot.

The day was one of those, where you just seemed to have an endless stream of responsibilities and obligations, and never quite enough time to achieve them. The last duty of the day was to hand deliver an item to Dunnville. This task I was lucky enough to be able to share with my wife and two of my three children. Now, despite worrying about time, a photographers priorities can be quickly rearranged by a unique tree, interesting shadow and willing human subjects (hmmm , like my family). Such were the conditions when I made a U-turn on a busy street and pulled up along side of a city park.

The evening was cool and the light was fading fast, but the warmth of my family and their shining faces made the thirty minute delay well worth it.

Autumn Wedding...

*smiles* my first wedding...

A wedding. One of our most joyous of days, the grand culmination of months of thought and planning. Yet, despite the most well laid machinations, occaisionally, a fickled Mother Nature can toss us something a bit unexpected..like umm, well..the tail end of a hurricane. Such was the case the day this beautiful couple exchanged their vows. Now, you don't have to be a photographer to understand how the roar of wind, the pounding of rain, and muddied fields can complicate the out of doors pictures so cherished by many of us. After a year of wedded bliss I was gifted the chance to complete their photo- shoot.

The Essence of Family

Sunday, October 2007

During our preliminary discussions it was expressed that we were 'shooting' for a relaxed and casual look.

Being slightly warmer than seasonal for the Niagara Region, and having a good mix of sun and cloud made for an enjoyable shoot. Russ and Laureys' family were wonderful. Their good nature (not to mention their good looks) helped to create a relaxed atmosphere and mood easily recognized in the shots.

I have difficulty relating to others just how much I like my job. I have even greater difficulty relating to others just how much more I like my job, when my subjects display openly the respect and love they have for each other.

Thank you for granting me the privilege of sharing your time together
