An impromptu shoot.


The day was one of those, where you just seemed to have an endless stream of responsibilities and obligations, and never quite enough time to achieve them. The last duty of the day was to hand deliver an item to Dunnville. This task I was lucky enough to be able to share with my wife and two of my three children. Now, despite worrying about time, a photographers priorities can be quickly rearranged by a unique tree, interesting shadow and willing human subjects (hmmm , like my family). Such were the conditions when I made a U-turn on a busy street and pulled up along side of a city park.

The evening was cool and the light was fading fast, but the warmth of my family and their shining faces made the thirty minute delay well worth it.

*smiles* my first wedding...

A wedding. One of our most joyous of days, the grand culmination of months of thought and planning. Yet, despite the most well laid machinations, occaisionally, a fickled Mother Nature can toss us something a bit unexpected..like umm, well..the tail end of a hurricane. Such was the case the day this beautiful couple exchanged their vows. Now, you don't have to be a photographer to understand how the roar of wind, the pounding of rain, and muddied fields can complicate the out of doors pictures so cherished by many of us. After a year of wedded bliss I was gifted the chance to complete their photo- shoot.

During our preliminary discussions it was expressed that we were 'shooting' for a relaxed and casual look.


Being slightly warmer than seasonal for the Niagara Region, and having a good mix of sun and cloud made for an enjoyable shoot. Russ and Laureys' family were wonderful. Their good nature (not to mention their good looks) helped to create a relaxed atmosphere and mood easily recognized in the shots.


I have difficulty relating to others just how much I like my job. I have even greater difficulty relating to others just how much more I like my job, when my subjects display openly the respect and love they have for each other.
